In short
evidelta.de sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising, no social media plugins, no newsletter and no contact form. Fonts and all other files come from the website itself; nothing is loaded from third parties.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit it, the host processes the access data technically required to deliver it and keep it secure: IP address, date and time, the file requested, the amount of data transferred, the referrer URL, browser type and operating system, and the HTTP status code. These data may be stored in server log files. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of the website. The processing takes place on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Domain
The domain is registered with Porkbun LLC. To reach the website under its name, your browser asks the responsible name servers for its address (DNS). This is technically required (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Requests by email
If you ask for an analysis of your shop by email, I process your email address, your message and the shop address you name in order to answer you and, if you wish, to prepare the analysis (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). I delete these data once the request is settled and no retention obligation applies.
The example on the start page
The example shows a fictional shop. Rules you set there (tolerances, hidden findings) are kept in your browser's local storage and do not leave your device. You can delete them at any time in your browser's settings.
Study: notifying the shops
For the study "Inconsistencies Between Product Pages and Linked Documents" (osf.io/q3uxm), publicly available product pages and the documents they link are checked. Shops with findings are informed before publication, by letter or email. For this I process the details given in the shop's imprint or contact page: company name, address, names of the managing directors and the published email address, and any reply.
The purpose is to inform the shops of the findings and give them the opportunity to object or correct before the study appears. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in carrying out the study and informing those concerned beforehand. A postal service may receive the data for sending a letter. I delete the contact details once the notification and any correspondence about it are concluded, at the latest one year after the study is published. Shops are named in the study only with their consent. You may object to the processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR); you will then receive no further messages.
Report pages (evidelta.de/s/…)
The findings for a shop are at an address given only in the message to that shop. These pages are not linked from anywhere and are closed to search engines. Visiting them causes only the access data described above at the host. Links from there to your website or to the Internet Archive pass on no referring address.
Transfers to third countries
Vercel is based in the USA, so data may be processed there. Vercel takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR); the data processing agreement also includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to it at any time (Art. 21). There is no automated decision-making (Art. 22).
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one responsible for me: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover (www.lfd.niedersachsen.de).
